Yvick Letexier

Yvick Letexier, known and famous as Mister V, was born on August 14 , 1993 in Grenoble , in Isère. Mister V is a French videographer , humorist , actor and rapper .

 

 

He is part of the first generation of French web humorists alongside Norman Thavaud , Cyprien Iov and Hugo Dessioux . He publishes his videos on social networks, especially on YouTube , where he has more than 5 million subscribers on his channel.

 

Yvick Letexier was born to a French Breton father who was a civil servant at the town hall of Grenoble and a mother of Cameroonian origin who was a computer scientist.He grew up in Veurey-Voroize,a small town in the Grenoble conurbation. He was educated at the Lycée Aristide Bergès in Seyssinet-Pariset. Tex,the successful comedian, is a distant cousin of Mister V.

 

Mister V began making comedy videos as a podcast around 2008 with The HomeWork Podcast #1 on Dailymotion . Originally, he created videos for fun and to amuse his friends, but the thousands of views generated by these led him to continue composing wacky videos presented by his character, Mister V.

 

His inspirations come from the various events and situations of daily life which he transcribes in a comical even caustic way, with an often regressive tone and brief, interspersed dialogues. The editing is fast and the so-called urban music is very frequently used. Thus, it covers a wide variety of topics such as the baccalaureate, fighting, couple life, parties, reality TV shows , social networks,  etc. Mister V has established himself as one of the most popular French videographers on YouTube and now performs on stage with the Woop. Mister V is also recognizable by his facial expressions and grimaces, which are regular during his sketches. He sees himself as a guest on popular TV shows such asDo not touch My TV ! , Don’t touch my sport!, Le Grand 8 , Friday everything is permitted or Clique .

 

In 2012, at the age of 19 and on the advice of his agent, he decided to move alone to Paris to really devote himself to his professional projects. On January 12, 2012, he took part, alongside Norman and other videographers, in the show Le Zapping Amazing , which brought together around 3,000 people and featured the best videos from current YouTubers.The following year, they renewed the event, but this time with a tour throughout France and a final performance broadcast live from the Grand Rex on W9 .At the end of 2012, he joined the sketch collective Studio Bagel .

 

Mister V started his musical career in 2013. On October 24, 2013, Mister V created his music channel “Mister V Music”. It is on this channel that he launched the Sapassoupa series, rap clips in which Internet users must vote at the end if the piece pleases them or not. Since then, we have seen him alongside many rappers, such as Hayce Lemsi in 2015 on the title Hayce Project , or with Tortoz on several songs. He also works with the collective Studio Bagelon in some of their videos.

 

Mister V revealed in December 2016 on his YouTube channel that his first French rap album named Double V will be released on May 19, 2017, and unveils the first extract, Top Album , On April 28, which was certified gold single in March 2018. In July 2017 , Space Jam was certified gold single.

 

His debut album Double V sold over 21,000 copies in its first week of release. It was certified gold on July 3, 2017 with 50,536 albums sold. On February 7, 2018, the album was certified platinum with more than 100,000 copies sold.

 

In December 2019, he released a feat with rapper PLK named Never , first single from his second album MVP January 2020. In January 2020, he released Gang with Dosseh , which in 2 days counted 1.6 million views. As of February 2022, Mister V continues his professional music life and he does not forget about his YouTube channel and uploads funny videos too.
