Michael McMahon

The self-made online star, Michael McMahon, who is known online by his username Thinnd, never thought he would get popular enough to be a gaming influencer. 

 

 

McMahon was born in Portland, Oregon, to an American father and Taiwanese mother. When McMahon finished with a degree in business marketing, he was bored of his advertising position at home and set out into the world to face new challenges abroad! He was soon working for SmartCity App, which was a start-up that guided tourists through the metro subway system.

 

He started streaming online every day only as a dare. Michael had never done anything like that before and had only little to no knowledge about streaming. But even without any experience with PC gaming and streaming, Michael managed to learn everything on his own, and after stumbling through the process for weeks playing PUBG, it turned into something more than what was planned. After a while, McMahon started to understand the ins and outs of social media. He has been so successful at his challenge that he has accumulated thousands of followers on Facebook within just a couple of months and collected more than huge sums in donations. He even picked up some sponsors along the way! Nowadays, Michael has an audience on Facebook of as large as 1.3 million, and his followers are devouring everything that comes out of his creative mind.

 

With his online gaming career taking off, Thinnd wants to be a mentor for other esports players and show them how they can earn an extra income as well. With his dedication to the game, the professional streamer puts in 8 to 16 hours of live streaming every day. He does this by showing off his PUBG skills, and his fans love watching him play around the world, gaining followers on Facebook while also earning money from it!

 

Thinnd has been working tirelessly to maintain his streaming empire. He has even started accepting donations from fans in order to invest back into his streams, for example, by buying better equipment. But there were moments where things looked bleak when donations nearly dried up,  and it seemed like all would be lost without income coming through for a while. However, Michael was able to power through those times by continuously building up his success and following even further.

 

Michael McMahon is a different type of streamer when it comes to how he interacts with his community. While some other big PUBG gamers focus more on followers, length in gaming seasons or tournaments, Thinnd prefers to build a connection with his community through gameplay skills and creativity. On his channel Thinnd not only interacts with fans while playing but also provides tips and tricks so anyone interested can get started too in the streaming world!

 

McMahon has followers from all over the world, including Chile, South Korea, and many more. Through his success and gained experience, Thinnd hopes to help gaming enthusiasts follow their dreams by assisting them to see themselves as entrepreneurs who are starting for a living even if they don’t have any experience doing so yet.
