Ian Balina

Ian Balina is a cryptocurrency investor, entrepreneur and YouTuber. Perhaps, Balina is mostly famous for being the founder and CEO of Tocen Metrics, a cryptocurrency investment research platform. Ian Balina is a native of Uganda, Africa, he moved to the United States at the age of eight. Balina attended middle and high schools in the U. S. and after received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Engineering from The George Washington University (GWU ). At GWU Ian Balina got the “ entrepreneur bug”.

 

 

Before switching to cryptocurrency and blockchain, Balina worked in different places. In 2009, Ian worked in DIversified Portfolio Strategist. He researched and matched alternative investment funds seeking to invest in profitable regulation D companies.

 

From 2009 to 2011, Balina worked in Fusion Design Agency as web designer, graphic designer and multimedia producer. His job included developing websites, blogs, graphics and multimedia material.

 

 Back in 2008, Balina developed the Leximo web application and mobile application. As for now, Leximo iOS application is currently on Apple’s App Store with over 10000 downloads.

 

 In 2013, he worked in two companies. The first one was Network Advertising Initiative, where he worked as a Software Development Contractor.  The second company was Deloitte, here his job was working within an engagement team and being responsible for systems integration. 

 

From 2015 until 2016, Ian founded Peer Hustle and worked there. Peer Hustle is an on-demand skills marketplace for on-demand freelancers. 

 

From June 2013 to September 2017, Balina worked in IBM, first as an IBM Watson Analytics Technical Sales Engineer and then an IBM Open Source Analytics Sales Executive. During one of his interviews, Ian said that while he was working in IBM, he was also making some advice videos on YouTube. After one of his crypto videos gained thousands of views, Ian decided to start making free content, which is more valuable than anybody else’s paid content.  He worked at IBM for about four years, and then retired to become a full-time cryptocurrency investor. 

 

Ian Balina founded the Token Metrics crypto investment research platform in November 2018. As of April 12, 2021 Balina was the CEO of the company.  Token Metrics helps investors build profitable portfolios using artificial intelligence based crypto indices. Rankings and price predictions. Token Metrics employs a combination of human-generated analytics and artificial intelligence to make crypto price and trend predictions. 

 

On April 15,  2018 Ian was reportedly hacked during a crypto livestream. Hackers managed to steal over $2 million in cryptocurrency from him. Balina ended his livestream earlier than planned and asked for the help on Twitter. Later, the bizarre circumstances caused speculation among some Twitter and Reddit users that Ian’s account hack was part of some kind of strange conspiracy. The story still does not have any concrete information regarding any kind of resolution to this hacking incident.

 

Ian Balina is quite active on social media platforms. He has a LinkedIn account  Ian Balina, with over 500 connections. On Twitter Ian’s account is Ian Balina , on this platform he has about 141K followers, and follows only 891 people. Balina first joined Twitter back in January 2010. Ian also has a YouTube account with the same username  as on Twitter and LikedIn Ian Balina .On YouTube he first appeared on September 11, 2014.
