Dougie the Shih Tzu

Meet Dougie – your favorite new Instagram dog! A Shih Tzu toy breed that loves nothing more than chilling on the sofa all day long. With his big heart and personality, Dougie brings a smile to his followers’ and owners’ faces.

He was born in 2013 and is currently 8 years old. He enjoys living with his owners, who he loves dearly, near the East Bay Area of California. Though he’s almost 9-years-old, which in dog years makes him a senior, Dougie still has plenty to enjoy! His favorite pastimes include playing outside–he especially likes going down slides!–or chewing on toys like bones or stuffed animals that were also gifts from friends and loved ones throughout the years. 

Dougie is the so-called “chiweenie.” He has more than 520,000 followers that tune into his daily antics. We’re guessing he’s a pretty popular pup! He loves to pose for photos and it looks as though many of these Instagrams are taken with an iPhone or other smart device. His owner actually started posting images of Dougie on her own Facebook account but because she didn’t want her friends getting bogged down by Dougies  pictures every day she created his own account; however, we can tell how much this cut little guy enjoys making new canine pals around town when looking at all those likes under every post!  

Dougie’s Friday Moments of Zen are the best part of his week. He posts videos to social media on Fridays that display him living up his life and relaxing, and he even has a hashtag for it! #FridayMomentsofZen

Dougie loves posting content related to relatable subjects like food and family moments on Facebook in order to inspire others with how much joy can be found just from normal everyday activities.
