Query

A query can be a simple keyword or phrase that you type into the search field of your favorite internet browser. For example, if you’re wondering what time it is in New York City right now and don’t have an international clock handy then all you need to do is open up Google.com on your computer’s web browser, enter “time” as well as another word—like “nyc”—into the search bar at the top of screen, this becomes your search “query” which Google uses to request data from its servers; voila! A list appears before our very eyes listing different websites to check out for answers.
