Earned Media

When a third party publishing company or review channel highlights your business in their content or publication for free, this is an example of an honorable and earned media. This kind of praise for a third company is extremely valuable to a company’s reputation, especially since earned media is often written by other professionals in the field that can represent a non-biased critique of your company’s purpose and assets. The difference between earned media and other forms of public content and promotions that can boost your ranking in the SERP is that earned media is crested for free, and for the sole purpose of giving your company attention for its good work. Kinda like your teacher using your essay as the example for the class… giving you a few bonus brownie points as well.
